Scott Kjorlien
Ph.D. Candidate in Agricultural and Resource Economics
University of California, Berkeley
I work at the intersection of agricultural economics and industrial organization. I am interested in how climate change affects risk in agriculture and what that means for market structure and agricultural policy.
Before graduate school, I worked on energy policy and clean energy finance in California and New York.

Research
My current research uses choices in U.S. agricultural programs to study farmers’ expectations about production risk.
My coauthored paper “Spatial Procurement of Farm Products and the Supply of Processed Foods” appeared in the Review of Industrial Organization in 2024.
